Sh*t-house rock n roll The Brides were a sh*tty rock n' roll band that played a bunch of 1970's Canadian punk covers, drank MGD, and pi**ed in sinks ONLY.

A night that changed my life. 17 years old, with my high school friends, Ken and Andrew, all still in a daze from Teengenerate’s brain-melting 7pm show at the Fireside Bowl, we trekked down to the Empty Bottle from Fullerton Ave. to Cortez St. on foot, not realizing how far apart the venues were. Terrible idea. But it was well worth enduring the bitter November winds because Teengenerate’s rocknroll onslaught continued in full force about two hours later and, after the room stopped shaking, my mind was made up: I have to start a band.

There’d be no Brides without Teengenerate.

I’m very happy that anyone who wasn’t there now has the chance to hear what it was like to be in the presence of one of the best punk rock bands of all time, in that peak moment three decades ago, playing to a packed room, full of rabid midwestern rocknroll maniacs.
