On April 5 at 3p.m. the Fish Tank is hosting a fundraiser for the Dolores Huerta Foundation in celebration of Dolores' 95th birthday. We're showing the movie, Dolores, a documentary about the life of Dolores Huerta. One of the most important, yet least known, activists of our time, Dolores Huerta was an equal partner in founding the first farm workers union with César Chávez. Tirelessly leading the fight for racial and labor justice, Huerta evolved into one of the most defiant feminists of the 20th century — and she continues the fight to this day, in her mid-90s. With unprecedented access to this intensely private mother of 11, Peter Bratt's film Dolores chronicles Huerta’s life from her childhood in Stockton, California to her early years with the United Farm Workers, from her work with the headline-making grape boycott launched in 1965 to her role in the feminist movement of the '70s, to her continued work as a fearless activist. Tickets are $40 and include movie, donation to the Dolores Huerta Foundation, and fiesta appetizers. The door and bar will open at 2:30.

This Friday, March 7, the Fish Tank is beyond thrilled to present Jazzgrass, featuring Barnaby Finch. Jazzgrass is an exciting 7-member band dedicated to toe-tappin’, accessible music honoring the traditions of bluegrass, Appalachian music, Americana, and the jazz composers who have their ears attuned to our rural homeland. Barnaby Finch is their musical director/keyboardist, with credits including George Benson, Lee Ritenour, Tom Scott, Lionel Richie and many others! Joining Barnaby are six musicians whose credits are too amazing to elaborate in this email...but they're on our website and I invite you to check them out!
The concert is from 7:30 to 10 p.m., with doors and bar opening at 7:00.

Experience The Four Muses' second "Hoot" (a hootenanny is defined as "an informal gathering with folk music [and sometimes dancing]") at our upcoming event on September 21. Join us for an evening full of music and community. The Four Muses was a venue for live music in San Clemente, founded by Mary and Jim Jenkins so that local musicians had a place to perform. It turned into THE place to see live music in south O.C. and hosted musicians that went on to stardom, such as Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, Steve Martin, Taj Mahal, Honk and many others. At the first hoot we hosted in July, several of the original Four Muses musicians participated in a reunion of sorts. Come be part of The Four Muses "redo" community!
