At a crossroads. Want to keep the Sensory Learning Program available for people in our area. New research is showing benefits for brain injury and concussions. To set up in my basement or move along that is the question?

If you haven't heard of EC week at Camp Fatima in Gilmanton NH you are missing out! This place is unbelievable! It is run solely by volunteers with donations and fundraising and has been going strong each summer for 62 years! It is a week when people of all ages, and abilities with special needs go to have a full camp experience. Each person has their own counselor, they sleep in bunks in cabins and have camp fires and sing alongs, boat rides, horse back riding, arts and crafts, swimming and SO much more. This place confirms my faith in humanity!!!! Ben is there right now! Having a BLAST his first time sleeping away from me and home, besides Mimii's. I just can not say enough about what I witnessed today other than I hope each and everyone of you and your children will have the opportunity to participate in some way at some time! Enjoy the rest of your summer and look into this for next summer!

What Makes Our Families “Special” Isn’t Just the “Need”!

In May, The Massachusetts Poetry Festival will be including a presentation of the poetry of Special Needs Families, called Behind Every One. The program will feature the original poetry written by family, friends, teachers, and support people of the Special Needs Community. We are seeking the submission of poetry about the special needs experience from people who know it intimately…and we would love to hear from you. If you have poetry you’ve already written, feel free to send it to the addy below. If you’ve thought about writing, please join us at one of the workshops being offered!
