Meet Lt. Grant Everhart! 🌟 Lt. Grant Everhart began his career with the Daphne Fire Department in 2015 as a part-time firefighter before joining the department full-time in 2019. Before coming to Daphne, he served with several local fire departments and has dedicated more than 20 years to the fire service. He applied to work for Daphne because of the quality of personnel and equipment in our department.

During his Daphne Fire career, Lt. Everhart has served as a Firefighter, Fire Apparatus Engineer, and was most recently promoted to Fire Lieutenant in November 2025. As the Lieutenant for Station 3 on C Shift, he oversees daily company training for his engine, ensures that pre-fire plans are completed, and maintains apparatus and station maintenance and cleanliness. Most importantly, he supports his crew by making sure they have the training, equipment, and resources needed to safely serve the citizens of Daphne during emergencies. In addition to his daily responsibilities, Lt. Everhart also leads Daphne Fire’s water rescue program. He and two fellow firefighters were recognized with the Smiles Behind the Shield Award for their efforts during a severe flooding event that involved multiple water rescues. Lt. Everhart credits all of C Shift for that great success for the community.

Outside of work, Lt. Everhart loves any hobby on the water, including taking his boat out, island hopping, and fishing. As for his coffee order, he states that “whatever is at the firehouse is fine with me”, though he admits he's a big fan of Seven Brew's cinnamon bun iced coffee. Grant’s favorite snack is anything on a charcuterie board, and his favorite lunch spot is Moe’s Original BBQ. He highly recommends the dry rub wings or the fried catfish!

Lt. Everhart exemplifies the honor and integrity that define the Daphne Fire Department. Thank you, Lt. Everhart, and all of our fire personnel for your dedication in serving the citizens of Daphne!

At approximately 2:35 p.m. today, Jubilee Square 6850 HWY 90 experienced a power outage. An odor of smoke was reported in several suites.

The affected suites were searched and cleared, and no signs of fire or other emergency conditions were found.

Power was subsequently restored, and the area was determined to be safe for occupancy.

Congratulations to Johnathon Flicek on graduating from the fire academy hosted by Mobile Fire-Rescue!

Over the past 13 weeks, Johnathon has dedicated himself to challenging physical training, mental preparation, and academic instruction to become a certified firefighter.

We are proud of Johnathon and happy to have him on our department.
