** Huge milestone day for the UC Davis Article 26 Backpack **

Thanks to Jackson Byiringiro, Olivier Mupenzi and the team Kepler Rwanda, the 5,000th young person has enrolled in Backpack! This means 5,000 university-age students from across the globe now have secure and safe access to their most critical academic documents (transcripts, diplomas, certificates, research).

More than just safe storage, Backpack fosters a global community that believes education is a human right, accessible to all, not a privilege for a few.

This milestone is just the beginning. Backpack is exploring expansion into Africa and Southeast Asia, adding languages like and .

Under the leadership of Lauren Cegelski and Heavenly Frazier, and in collaboration with UC Davis Human Rights Studies & UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education, we've launched the Backpack Guide Badge. This free micro-credentialing program trains a new generation of Backpack Guides to support young people in navigating the digital education ecosystem.
