That is what I learned this weekend at Otter. I moved back up to training level with Boomer and had a bit of a mental struggle to get back there. It showed up on cross country where while I wasn't necessarily afraid of the fences themselves, I was afraid of failing out there. I was most importantly afraid of failing Boomer and subsequently everyone around me. I just felt like I couldn't get it to get at that time. My always supportive coach told me to just go out and do the first 5 fences. So I did. I ended up making it through 10 AB with absolutely no trouble and smiling even. I decided that was a good place to stop and I gave Boomer the biggest pat and walked away happy. Ending on a letter is not always the worst thing when it builds you up to the next thing. I absolutely know I can continue on and will definitely do so next season. But for right now I'm at peace knowing I dipped my toes back in something harder and had the absolute best feeling over that picnic table!

Exercise of the week!
The figure 8 with oxers.
Start with the cross rail to cross rail (4 strides) then to the oxer across the diagonal. From there to the white cavaletti, to the subsequent diagonal oxer and then back to the cross rails. Super fun
