Healthy soils are becoming central to the future of agriculture, shaping conversations around farming, sustainability, policy, and innovation across Europe. ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒฑ

On June 30, our Co-Founder & CEO, Adriรกn Ferrero, will join the European Mission Soil Investment Forum in Brussels, where he'll discuss how we can build viable business models around soil health while highlighting the positive, tangible impact that healthy soils have on farmers.

Drawing on Biome Makers' experience and BeCropยฎ, Adriรกn will share how soil biology data can help measure soil health outcomes, support more informed decisions, and accelerate the adoption of regenerative and sustainable agricultural practices.

Healthy soil isn't just an environmental goal. It's an economic and societal necessity. We're proud to contribute to this important conversation by sharing how science and soil biology data can help translate soil health into measurable outcomes for agriculture.

A new study published in Nature analyzed 120 years of agricultural research across 184 meta-analyses and found that diversification practices can increase financial profitability, biodiversity, soil fertility, nutrient cycling, and carbon sequestration over time.

Among the findings:
๐ŸŒฑ Up to 189% increase in financial profitability over 20 years
๐ŸŒฑ 64% increase in biodiversity
๐ŸŒฑ Significant improvements in soil fertility, nutrient cycling, and carbon sequestration
๐ŸŒฑ Crop yields maintained over time
๐ŸŒฑ Long-term win-win outcomes for productivity and ecosystem services

The study highlights the long-term value of diversification practices such as crop diversification, organic amendments, and other approaches that support more resilient agricultural systems.

As growers adopt these practices, understanding how soil biology responds becomes increasingly important. Greater visibility into the biological processes occurring belowground can help support more informed management decisions and long-term soil health outcomes.

At Biome Makers, we're committed to making soil biology visible so farmers, agronomists, and the broader agricultural community can better understand and manage the living systems that support productive and resilient agriculture.
