This engagement means shoppers are more likely to notice pricing discrepancies or confusing promotions. A study found that customers using self-checkouts are 15-20% more likely to identify errors than those in traditional lanes. For retailers, this can be a double-edged sword: while transparency builds trust, errors or overly complex pricing can erode it."
