Our Story

Is there such a thing as a “healing place?” Do our physical surroundings affect us emotionally and even spiritually? Research and our own experiences say yes! So how would one create a place of healing and hope? First, you would need a place that is close to nature, surrounded by beauty and full of love and grace. Then you would infuse it with prayer and compassion. Add countless thoughtful touches to space and you have Tina’s Place. Tina's Place was created in memory of Tina (Wardlaw) Sullivan (1973 -2011). Tina lost her battle against Stage IV melanoma but through Tina’s Place, she will never be forgotten. Tina was married and lived in Arizona. During her illness, she wanted to return to her childhood state of Michigan to finish her journey. Back in Michigan, she spent as much time as she could on our deck. She said, "Everyone should be able to have a view like this at least once in his/her lifetime." To honor her wishes Tina's Place was born. Offering a FREE week-long vacation for stage III and IV (adults) and stage II and up (pediatric) melanoma warriors.
