Our Story

18th Parallel Relief was created in November 2017 after Hurricane María devastated Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. On 20 September, 2017 a cat 4/5 hurricane made landfall in my beautiful island, Puerto Ricans were without essential utility services for more than six months. Americans residing in the Caribbean were living under very dire conditions and until this day (4 September 2019) there are people in Puerto Rico still living with tarps on their roof and some without power.

Dayton Ohio for Puerto Rico is a chapter under 18th Parallel Relief. 18th Parallel Relief is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to providing aid and relief to those who need it the most. After the 2017 hurricanes, we provided aid to elderlies, homeless, and anyone who was in need of food, water, generators, etc. During this time we partnered up with some great non-profits such as BStrong and Global Empowerment, with their help we were able to transport 20M lbs of aid to Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

Our primary mission is to HELP, help those in need wherever we can! Join us spreading love!
