💚 May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

At ALI, we recognize the importance of supporting not only our clients, but also the incredible families and caregivers within the ASD community. Raising and caring for a child with autism can bring so much joy, but it can also come with unique emotional and mental health challenges that are often unseen.

Many families may experience:
✨ Caregiver burnout and exhaustion
✨ Stress from balancing appointments, therapies, school, and daily life
✨ Feelings of isolation or lack of understanding from others
✨ Anxiety about their child’s future and development
✨ Emotional fatigue from constantly advocating for services and support

This month serves as an important reminder that mental health matters for everyone. Taking time to rest, ask for help, seek support, and care for yourself is not selfish — it’s necessary. 💙

To all of the parents, caregivers, families, and individuals in the ASD community: you are seen, valued, and never alone. Together, we can continue building a stronger, more supportive community. 🌿

Earlier this week, our Coldwater, MI team had the opportunity to attend the Branch Area Career Center Career and Job Readiness Fair!

A big shoutout to our BCBA Kelise and Office Coordinator Wendy for representing Applied Learning Institute and connecting with students about careers in Applied Behavior Analysis.

We love being part of events that inspire the next generation, share knowledge, and build meaningful connections within our community. 💙

🐾💙 All Staff Meeting Recap at ALI! 💙🐾

Today’s all-staff meeting was full of learning, collaboration, and a little extra joy!

We had a special visit from Pennsy the Emotional Support Dog 🐶, who brought lots of smiles and positive energy to our team.

Our staff also participated in role-play activities to refresh our understanding of the functions of behavior, along with reviewing key ABA principles to keep our skills sharp and up to date. 🧠✨

Ongoing training like this ensures we continue providing the highest quality care and support to our learners and families every day 💙
