De Smet Rescue

Monday night 27 crew members from De Smet Rescue and DeSmet Volunteer Fire Department gathered to train on some new equipment. De Smet Rescue was able to purchase two new pieces of valuable equipment, thanks to generous donations. First is the binder lift which is a lifting device to help lift a patient off the floor. By using this device we prevent injuries to patients and crew. We also trained on LifeVac device which is a lifesaving tool used on choking patients. Members rounded out the evening by refreshing on proper use of the stair chair. Patient and crew safety is high priority to both crews. Thankful for continued teamwork to bring the highest quality of care to our community! We are also thankful for the support of our donors!

Today marks the start of EMS week. We are thankful for our crew every day! We are also thankful for the teamwork of DeSmet Volunteer Fire Department, Kingsbury County Sheriff's Office and Huron Police Department dispatchers!
