I finally figured out how to take the press apart enough to start the restoration of the bed and upper plate. Now all I have to do is get it outside so I can remove the rust. The previous owner used it for paper making. Luckily there is little to no pitting.

Playing in the minutiae. I’m not nearly as prolific as I used to be but the quality of the itty bitty bits has elevated over the years. I keep telling myself that there is no deadlines. Just work (plork - play/work.)

It’s liberating

So the press is in its home. The particle board chest of drawers was already drooping under the weight of the press. It’s small but weighs about 60 lbs. cast iron. So I used what I had on hand to distribute the weight across the top. I’ll refine it as I go. Again, thanks to Haley for lifting it up there for me.

At Frame Works Plymouth with Benjamin Bertrand and Cindy West Eckley about a week or so ago. It was good to get out.
