Hatching a batch of Silverudd shipped eggs today courtesy of Almost Something Like A Tiny Farm. These hot summer temps caused some delayed hatching but thankfully they started emerging at the end of day 21.

Something very odd happened yesterday. Look closely and something has changed. As I checked on these beauties for the 100th time yesterday, several hours after they were born, I thought, wait... that's not a pattern I remember. Why are there 4 boys? I know for a fact there were 4 girls and 3 boys. So I count them again: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7.......8?!?!?! Where in the heck did this extra boy come from?! So apparently there was an 8th piglet born hours and hours later. Currently, count 4 boys and 4 girls. I have been so worried about Hettie (the momma pig) after seeing this, but she is acting normal so far 🤷♀️ weird farm things do happen!
He is pretty darn adorable the little studling at the end with the black and white face! ☺️
