May is National Bike Month and there are plenty of ways to ride with us in Decatur!

Stop by our Bike to Work Day Energizer Station on May 15 for drinks and snacks along the West Howard path, then join us that evening for Bikes & Brews, our beginner-friendly social group ride through Decatur starting at 6:30 p.m. outside Guild + Journeyman.

Looking to build confidence on two wheels? We also offer learn-to-ride lessons for kids and adults, including one-on-one instruction and Silver Spokes lessons for adults and seniors.

As the highest ranking Bicycle Friendly Community in Georgia, we’re proud to keep building a safer, more connected Decatur. Come ride with us this month!

Keep Decatur Beautiful litter pick-up stations are located at McKoy Park, Oakhurst Park and Decatur Recreation Center. Help us keep Decatur clean by borrowing a bucket and grabber while you’re out enjoying the parks, then returning them back to the station when you’re done.

You may notice small holes drilled into the bottoms of the buckets. Those were added intentionally to prevent standing water and help stop mosquitoes from breeding.

A beautiful Decatur starts with all of us. Thanks for doing your part!

Join us for a guided Beaver Complex Tour and explore one of the most unique ecosystems in Decatur. We’ll hike through the woods to visit the five beaver dams that make up the Legacy Park beaver complex and learn how these incredible animals help create thriving wetland habitats for wildlife.

Along the way, we’ll also take a look at ongoing forest restoration efforts and native plantings throughout the area.

Saturday, May 16
10 a.m.
Meet at Cochran Hall at Legacy Park

Spots are limited and registration on CommunityPass is required.

The hike covers about 1 mile over rough terrain. While beavers are sometimes active during the day, they are primarily nocturnal, so sightings are not guaranteed.
