Local Wreaths Across America Sponsorship Group to Host Greenhill Cemetery Ceremony
WHAT: Whitley County Veterans Cemetery Cleaning & Restoration is fundraising to support the Wreaths
Across America being held locally at Greenhill Cemetery & 89 Whitley Cemeteries. They will be hosting
an event at Greenhill Cemetery, 465 E Ellsworth St, Columbia City Indiana to bring awareness to the
yearlong mission of the organization which is to Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve, and
Teach the next generation the value of freedom.
The ceremony will host the Marine Corp League Detachment #1435 Pride and Purpose presenting the
colors. Pledge of Allegiance (Mayor of Columbia City), Laying of Ceremonial Wreaths (Local Veterans),
Reading of George Washington Prayer (Air Force Veteran Doug Bone), Playing of TAPS (Tiffany Cariens),
follow by the Laying of Wreaths. (Volunteers)

About Wreaths Across America
Wreaths Across America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual
wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, which was begun by Maine businessman Morrill
Worcester in 1992.
The organization’s yearlong mission – Remember, Honor, Teach – is carried out in part
each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies in December at thousands of veterans’ cemeteries and
other locations in all 50 states and beyond.
