Capital Campaign 2025-2028 Update
As we near the one year mark of our most recent three-year capital campaign (“Looking In, Reaching Out), we wanted to share with you some highlights from the past year. The overall goal of the campaign is $550,000. Thus far, we have:
- Begun three (3) projects that are set to take place by early summer:
o New outdoor signs and landscaping around signs
o Sanctuary painting (which had to wait until the roof repairs were completed)
o Re-sealing of the parking lot
- Continued monthly payments against the loan for the 2015-2016 renovations. At this rate we plan to pay off the loan within two years, over 15 years ahead of schedule!!

In addition to these projects, which we anticipate to be completed in the next few months, we are planning for Great Hall and Disciples Room improvements, as well as continuing to save for a future boiler / chiller. Several member-funded projects, which fall outside of the campaign, have also been completed. They are the restoration of the carillon, flooring in the nursery and video monitors in the choir loft.

After one year of this three-year campaign, contributions have amounted to just under 30% of the overall goal. Ten percent of all these receipts, as is our custom at Central, are being set aside to be given to outreach at the end of the campaign.

We are incredibly grateful for your generosity toward this campaign. One of the reasons Central’s facilities are in such good shape is due to the congregation’s decision to support continuous three-year campaigns. If you would like to donate to the campaign, you may do so at any time by marking “building fund” or “capital campaign” with your offering, or selecting that from among the options presented when giving online. If you have any questions about the campaign, or wish to speak to someone more about it, simply contact the church office and we can direct you to the financial secretary or the chair of the trustees who will be more than happy to help.

Summer Sunday School News for Families
We will begin summer Sunday School for our 4-year-olds – 5th grade children on Sunday, June 7. Sunday School is from 9:30-10:15.
We will be meeting throughout the summer downstairs in the Disciples’ Room. We meet each Sunday of the month, except for the last Sunday, when children stay in worship with their families. Our 6th-12th grade class will take a break from meeting in the summer and will resume meeting again in September.
We have fun activities planned around Bible stories. We hope your children will join us.

Lunch with the Staff – May 31 and August 23
One of our core values at Central is connection (connection with each other and with the church). One of the connections that is important is a connection with the staff. We believe church members who feel positively about their staff are more likely to invest in their church community. With more and more people attending Central over the past few years, we want to increase the number ways our staff is able to connect with them.

To that end we are offering two connection opportunities in the next few months: “Lunch with the Staff” - Sunday May 31 and Sunday August 23
12:00 – 1:00 p.m. (right after 10:30 worship), in the Great Hall
We’ll provide a light lunch and have some mixer activities to get to know the staff and one another.

These are designed for those who been attending Central in the recent past. If you started attending Central sometime since 2024 and are interested in attending this event, please RSVP for one of these events. Contact the church office ([email protected]) and let us know which of the two dates you’d like to attend (this is a one-time event; you need not attend both sessions as the same material will be covered at both).
