The Downtown Cafe

After nearly 24 wonderful years, it's time for us to say farewell as owners of The Downtown Cafe.

We cannot overstate how thankful we are to have had your support all these years. It has not been without challenges - bad economies, COVID-19 pandemic, etc. - but we have appreciated being such a staple in the Downtown Decatur community and with your patronage, we have remained open throughout it all.

Thank you also for allowing us to use the cafe as a ministry. We've laughed, cried, and prayed with our customers over the years, throughout our trials and joys as well as yours. That has been a blessing to us and we hope it has been a blessing to you as well.

We also want to thank the many staff members we've employed over the years. They have made connections with our customers as well and have helped foster this community. In particular we'd like to thank our nephew, Chris, who spent the last 14 years managing the cafe and taking the helm in many of the day to day operations, especially when we decided to move to be closer to family five years ago. We so appreciate his support and hard work and wish him the best as he moves onto his next chapter.

Again, thank you for the support of our small business. Please continue to support The Downtown Cafe in its new ownership!
