Also, congratulations to the winner of the Capt Gary Menard Judges’ Standout Award - new for this year, and created in loving memory of Captain Gary Menard, a special friend of the derby and a judge who went the extra mile every year, this award honors the entry that captures hearts — the one with that special something that makes everyone smile.

Captain Menard’s joy, creativity, and passion live on through this tribute.

14th annual Madison Avenue Derby Kids are lining up along Madison Avenue with their homemade human-powered soapbox cars, ready to put their blood, sweat and tears to the test! FOX LOCAL's Kaitlyn Pratt bring Judayah Murray and Elizabeth Rawlins along for the Decatur event that's raised nearly $300,000 for local charities since 2011...

🏁 The best day of the year is almost here! 🏁

🏎️ Racers, registration starts at 10:30 followed by judging rounds at noon. For our spectators, expect a parade-style event with chairs and blankets on the sidelines. 🚙

🍭 Plan to enjoy some delicious food and treats from our friends at Oakhurst Market, Madre Garcia's, Poco Loco, and King of Pops. 🌯
