Day two at state has come to a close. Our athletes have competed with some of the very best in track and done a tremendous job of representing Decatur well. Results are in the images below.

We will have four athletes competing tomorrow. Jadience Smith in Shot Put, Carlee Mitchell and Bakir Zamora in the 800 and Kennedy Parham in the 200m finals. Go Raiders!

Sectionals is a wrap! We were able to qualify more athletes today in the finals for the 100,200 and 4x100, as well as the 800 and 3200. Here is who qualified today:

Bakir Zamora - 3200m (new school record of 9:45 for 2 miles!)
Sophie-Paige Lamp - 3200m
Carlee Mitchell - 800m
Max Ponter - 100 and 200m
Kennedy Parham - 100 and 200m
Jeremiah Davis - 200m
Boys 4x100 of Jeremiah Davis, Deshaun Swopes, Kaden Watkins and Max Ponter (new school record of 42.58 seconds)

We have potential wildcards in the 4x400 and one other event that we are waiting on. Bakir Zamora is one of those with his new school record in the 800m of 2:00.18. Bakir now holds all boys distance records at Decatur High!

Overall, our boys team finished fourth and girls finished fifth. Great job Raiders!
