Kids Club
It all started many years ago with a simple story and snack after Dinner Downtown on the last Saturday of the month at Decatur First United Methodist Church. Now it has expanded to a hour long program which continues to include reading, along with enrichment experiences in science, music, gardening, and always a Free book to take home.
Now it has expanded to a Little Free Library at Good Samaritan Inn, and “Guest Readers” every Saturday. Through a grant from the Community Foundation of Macon County we are providing on the job training to assist us with Community Outreach, Clerical, Social Media, and Managing the Little Free Library. We spend time at Good Samaritan Inn over school breaks when the children come for lunch, and offer four family field trips per year.
