As per usual, Mother Nature is on one!

A funnel cloud was reported near Springfield before 1 pm. Due to the presence of a surface boundary, the potential for additional funnel clouds exists through the afternoon. While usually harmless, in rare instances they can briefly touch down and cause minor damage. Be prepared to move to a safe shelter if you see a funnel approaching the ground.

The City of Decatur will be extending efforts to help private property owners clean up tree debris. Also posted this on their social media and the City website.

City Public Works crews continue to clean up tree limbs/debris from public and private property. They are extending their efforts after the weekend storms.
- All tree debris and limbs (shorter than six feet to fit in the dump truck) should be at the curb by Thursday, July 9. City crews cannot come onto private property.

- Request a pickup from the curb using this online form https://www.decaturil.gov/.../Request-tree-limbdebris...
- Request pickup by phone before 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, by calling 217-875-4820

- No paper landscape bags, other garbage, or building material on your tree debris pile
