Wounded Minister's Retreats

"I attended this retreat for support and resources at a time when I was forced to terminate my pastorate.

I received more from the retreat than I expected. The retreat provided me professional resources, both practical and relational/collegial, as well as personal and spiritual rest and renewal.

I will have an easier time leaving now. Perhaps this will also be better for the parish I am leaving. The opportunity for post-retreat therapy with the clinical staff was paramount to this outcome.

Wounded Ministers Retreats help clergy and their spouses experience help, hope, and renewal after a forced termination.

When a minister is involuntarily separated from a church, both the minister and the church are damaged. The clergy retreat provides spiritual, emotional, and vocational support for ministers from all faith groups.

It is also open to those encountering congregational conflict that may lead to dismissal.

The retreat costs $100 for a single participant OR $150 for couples. It is offered multiple times throughout the year at various locations.

Five Types of People Emerge in Crisis 10/12/2023

I’ve learned in times of crisis, you can count on seeing five kinds of people emerge. Leaders do well to discern the persons in the system that represent each leadership type and respond appropriately.

Truisms for Acute Anxiety 07/25/2023

A chronically anxious system in the grips of acute anxiety has a tremendous capacity for self-sabotage. There will be no lack of volunteers willing to lead the way.

Truisms for Acute Anxiety Leaders in systems of acute anxiety have a twofold job: first, self-regulation, and being attentive to the system's emotional processes.
