🚨 TORNADO WARNING FOR SOUTHERN MACON COUNTY 🚨

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Tornado Warning for:

• Southern Macon County
• Northeastern Christian County

⏰ Until 6:00 PM CDT

At 4:54 PM, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Mechanicsburg, moving east at 35 mph.

⚠️ This storm is moving toward Decatur.

Hazards:
🌪️ Tornado possible
🧊 Baseball-size hail

Communities impacted include:
• Mount Auburn around 5:00 PM
• Niantic around 5:05 PM
• Harristown around 5:10 PM
• Decatur
• Mount Zion
• Long Creek
• Decatur Airport
• Dalton City

Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Stay away from windows. If you are in a vehicle or mobile home, seek substantial shelter immediately.

⚠️ A separate Tornado Warning remains in effect for northeastern Macon County until 5:15 PM, including Forsyth, Oreana and portions of Decatur.

⚠️ A Tornado Watch remains in effect for the entire listening area until 10 PM CDT.
