Project Connect Gives Update to Rotary Club: The Decatur Rotary Club recently welcomed Rob Parker, executive director of Project Connect, and Sarah DeRossett, who shared how the organization helps individuals transitioning from jail or prison by connecting them with needed services and support.
Project Connect aims to bridge the gap for both men and women reentering the community, offering guidance and stability during a critical time. The organization currently operates three recovery houses—two in Berne and a newly opened home in Decatur—and is expanding with office space in the former Rice Hotel at Third and Madison streets in Decatur. Parker, formerly director of Crossroads Community, emphasized the importance of community partnerships in helping participants rebuild their lives.

Recently the Decatur Rotary Club hosted Bellmont Middle School Students of the Month for February, March, and April 2026 at a regular lunch meeting. Not pictured are Februarys Students of the Month, Braxton Bailey, Carmen Eguia, and Harmony Liechty. The Decatur Rotary Club currently meets at 2Brothers Restaurant on Thursdays at noon.
