Protecting Our Seniors Through Education 💜

Yesterday, 13 seniors joined us for a Senior Wellness Workshop on understanding and preventing elder abuse. The session was led by RWN intern Ella Nelson, a Public Health and Spanish major in the Bevier Internship Program at Agnes Scott College. Through engaging role-play, Ella and Pabitra, RWN’s Social Adjustment Program Manager, acted out real-life scenarios to help participants recognize the signs of physical, emotional, financial, and neglect-related abuse, while learning where to seek help.

At Refugee Women’s Network, we believe education empowers our communities to stay safe, healthy, and connected. Thank you to Ella for her thoughtful leadership, Pabitra for helping bring the lessons to life, and to all 13 seniors for participating in such an important conversation. We’re also grateful to the Bevier Internship Program at Agnes Scott College for investing in the next generation of public health leaders. 💜

Healthy Beginnings nutrition education videos reached mothers with the information and support they need to make confident, informed choices for their families.

The results? Increased health literacy, greater self-efficacy, and a stronger foundation for lifelong wellness.

Refugee Women’s Network was honored to partner with United Way of Greater Atlanta and Wellstar Health System to host a Community Leaders Listening Session in Clarkston.

The session brought together nonprofit leaders, faith leaders, community organizations, and other stakeholders to discuss community strengths, challenges, and opportunities for improving health, social, and community services throughout DeKalb County.
