🐾 Protect Those Paws This Winter! ❄️

Cold temps, ice, and freezing ground can be tough on your pet’s feet—especially during longer walks. Ice can cause cracking, irritation, and even frostbite, while salt and de-icing chemicals may burn sensitive paw pads.

Here are a few simple ways to keep your pet’s paws safe:

🐶 Limit time outside during extreme cold and take shorter walks when possible
🧦 Use booties to protect paws from ice, snow, and chemicals
🧴 Apply pet-safe paw balm to prevent cracking and dryness
🧼 Wipe or rinse paws after walks to remove salt and ice melt
👀 Check paws regularly for redness, cracks, or limping

If you notice your pet licking their paws excessively, favoring a foot, or showing signs of discomfort, give us a call—we’re always happy to help keep your furry friends comfortable and safe all winter long! 💙🐾

❄️ Weather Update for Monday, January 26th ❄️

Due to the winter weather moving in over the weekend, Animal Tracks Veterinary Hospital will have a delayed opening on Monday, January 26th until 9am to ensure safe travel for our staff and clients.

We will continue to monitor the forecast closely. If conditions improve or worsen, we’ll keep everyone updated right here on social media and via email.

Please know that no matter the weather, our team will be here throughout the weekend taking great care of the sweet pups boarding with us 🐾❤️ Their comfort and safety are always our top priority. If your travel plans change, please keep us up to date so we know when to expect pick-up. Please know that our pick-up times may change to ensure that staff can make it home before dark.

Thank you for your understanding and support. Stay warm and safe!

PS... Please share cute pics of your babies (furry or human!) Whether it is playing in the snow or snuggled up inside, keeping warm and dry throughout the cold rainy days! We all need something to smile about!

🐾 Why Nail Trims Matter for Your Dog 🐾

At Animal Tracks Veterinary Hospital, we know nail trims aren’t always a favorite activity—but they’re an important part of your dog’s overall health and comfort!

Long nails can cause discomfort and pain, affect the way your dog walks, and even lead to joint and posture issues over time. Overgrown nails are also more likely to split or break, which can be painful and may lead to infection.

Regular nail trims help:
✔️ Keep your dog comfortable and mobile
✔️ Prevent painful breaks or tears
✔️ Support healthy posture and joints
✔️ Protect your floors (bonus!)

If nail trims are stressful for your pup, our trained team is here to help make the experience as calm and gentle as possible. Give us a call or schedule a visit—your dog’s paws will thank you! 🐶💙
