This week is contact lenses health week. It is very important to practice contact lens health.

To ensure a healthy contact lens always wash your hands with soap and water before handling the lenses and replace your contacts as prescribed.

Always remember to clean and store your lenses in a contact case with new solution every night when you take them out for bed unless you wear daily contacts you will just dispose of them!

Never wear contacts while swimming or in any body of water due to possible infection getting under the contact and causing eye infections etc.

Avoid sleeping in your lenses due to possible corneal ulcers and infections. You need to let your corneas breathe so take breaks from your contacts the best you can, that is why it’s always important to get a back up pair of glasses to allow your eyes to breathe. It’s also important to get glasses for back up incase you get something in your eye or an infection and you’re not allowed to wear contacts to allow your eye to heal.
