Riverside was grateful for the opportunity to speak with guests at the 18th Annual Bulfinch Charitable Golf Tournament, held this week at Sacconnesset Golf Club in Falmouth! We truly appreciate the foundation's many years of dedicated support.

Kim Martin, Executive Director of the Trauma Center, shared the impact of last year's support and emphasized that Riverside could not provide su***de education and guidance after traumatic events to adults, children, and communities without the generosity of our esteemed philanthropic partners, such as Kevin Schneider, Partner/Executive Vice President of The Bulfinch Group

Since its founding in 2013, the Bulfinch Group Charitable Foundation has awarded nearly $900,000 to more than 80 nonprofits, including the Riverside Trauma Center, and we're proud to be among the organizations they've supported for so many years.

Thank you to the Bulfinch Charitable Foundation and everyone who participated in this year's tournament!

Riverside was proud to join Lifeworks and the Charles River Center last Friday for a Legislative Breakfast focused on issues impacting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and brain injury, and the families who support them.

We appreciated the participation of Senator Becca Rausch, State Representative Josh Tarsky, Representative Paul McMurtry, and State Representative Ted Philips, who engaged thoughtfully on topics including the importance of Chapter 257 in recruiting and retaining high-quality staff, the “Turning 22” transition, Adult Family Care, and MassHealth.

The morning was made especially meaningful by the parents, self-advocates, caregivers, and staff who shared their experiences and perspectives throughout the discussion.

One particularly powerful moment was hearing from Erez B., who receives support from Riverside, about his journey from Shared Living to independent housing and how state services and MassHealth have helped make that progress possible. Erez is currently pursuing his associate degree in psychology at MassBay Community College, and we were honored to hear his story.

Thank you again to everyone who attended and helped make the morning informative, honest, and productive. Advocacy matters, and community voices truly make a difference.

Riverside recently hosted a legislative breakfast with State Senator Mike Rush, Representative Paul McMurtry, Amy Sangiolo for State Representative, and Megan DiGiovanni from Senator Paul Feeney's office to discuss our Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) program.

Riverside’s ACCS program supports nearly 400 adults living with serious mental illness — in group living environments and in the community — through multidisciplinary teams of clinicians, peer specialists, nurses, and housing and employment specialists. The work is grounded in a simple belief: that every person deserves the chance to live the most independent and fulfilling life they can lead.

The highlight of the morning was hearing directly from Sean and Maureen, two people served by ACCS, who spoke with honesty and courage about their experiences. Their voices are the reason these conversations matter.

We're grateful to our legislative guests for their time and support — and for recognizing that decisions made on Beacon Hill have a direct and lasting impact on the people we serve.
