That’s what makes cutting loose together to celebrate with our great people at occasions like our annual holiday party so special! This year’s party was legendary.

Let's travel back in time. Close your eyes and imagine it's exactly 32 years ago today -- the date is July 18, 1991.

• The song Unbelievable by EMF is at the top of the U.S. singles charts. George W. Bush Sr. is the President of the United States, and the movie Naked Gun 2 1/2 is at the top of the box office.
• Texting is not a thing yet. Instead, people are using landline phones and pagers. In fact, most people have never heard of the Internet!
• In fashion, colored tights, denim overalls, leotards, flannel shirts and shoulder pads are all fashionable at the moment.
• On TV, people are watching popular shows such as "Sherlock Holmes," "The Cosby Show," and "Married... with Children."
• Popular toys at the moment include My Little Pony (figures), Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles figures, Yo-yo, and G.I. Joe (figures).
• The airwaves are being dominated by artists such as Bryan Adams, Michael Jackson, Roxette, R.E.M., Color Me Badd and Paula Abdul.
• The films "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" and "Boyz n the Hood" are playing in movie theaters.

And meanwhile, on this very day, a 29-year-old PR professional named Sherri Canel Fishman decided to take a brave leap of faith and start her own PR firm, "Sherri Fishman Public Relations." (See the official document of incorporation from the state of Illinois pictured here.) The next year, her husband Brad Fishman joined in the venture and while the name "Sherri" was dropped from the official company name, her role remained pivotal as the entrepreneurial power couple eventually grew Fishman Public Relations to the No. 1 PR firm in franchising (According to Entrepreneur Magazine for the past five years in a row!). They later launched Franchise Elevator PR for emerging franchise brands and have given back to the world of franchising in more ways than one can count.

We will appropriately mark the day by continuing to embrace the work ethic of the tireless founders and the uphold the agency's core values, on behalf of our clients and the entire franchise industry.
