I haven’t posted in a while. Life has looked a little different since losing Mike, and for a long time I just didn’t have it in me to create.

But today, something small and meaningful happened. My mother-in-law asked me to make a “blind date with a book,” and for the first time since he passed, I sat down and made one.

I didn’t think I would again.

But as I started, I could feel him. Mike was always my biggest supporter—he was proud of every single thing I made. He even kept pieces I didn’t realize meant that much. That’s just who he was.

Today was hard… but it was also healing.

Creating again made my heart feel something I haven’t felt in a while. A little happiness. A little peace. And a whole lot of love for the man who always believed in me.

and while I started making it of course Mikes favorite came on the radio so that made me feel like he was right next to me creating it too! 🙏🏼

I just want to say a heartfelt thank you to our family & every single person who has shown up for our family during this incredibly difficult time. There’s to many names to mention & I don’t want to forget anyone but THANK YOU to all that came together for him! The love, support, prayers, and kindness you’ve given mean more than I could ever put into words. I truly don’t know what I would have done without all of you. And to my kids Ryan (Alexus) & Kylie (Jose) I just want you to know how proud I am of you. I know this hasn’t been easy, but you’ve been so strong.
I keep thinking how I’m supposed to be yall’s backbone, but the truth is… you all have been mine!
We’re going to get through this together. I love you more than anything.
My husband was a simple man. He didn’t care about titles, money, or what anyone had—he cared about people. He never looked for recognition or praise for the things he did… that was just who he was. He loved deeply and gave freely, always willing to help anyone—especially kids—any chance he could.

If you had the opportunity to know him, even just a little, then you were one of the lucky ones. He made an impact on so many lives, and that is something I will forever hold close to my heart.

For those of you whose lives he touched, please keep going. Don’t give up. That’s what he would have wanted. He never gave up on anyone or anything, he always forgave everyone and I know he’d want that same strength and perseverance to live on through all of us. Please don’t ever forget about him because he NEVER forgot about ANYONE! 🙏🏼
