Update: October 27, 2024. It's been one month since Hurricane Helene's devastation changed Asheville, NC and all of the lives there. What people went through and still are is unimaginable.

We want to thank all of the giving souls who have showed their Love and Support for Jess, Jim and Charlie.

Please read the message from Jess to all of you in response to the generosity of their GoFundMe Hurricane Helene Recovery Fundraiser.

"You are our Angels. You are a part of our divine network. I'm in deep gratitude for you. I have learned from this experience that Angels come in many forms. One of Charlie's school teachers lost her entire house to Helene. Swept away by the flood. The night before, 4 people...one after the other asked her to stay with them. She listened to the 4th person and is here today because of it.
I talked with another AWS school parent, and she and her family tirelessly sopped up water for hours, preventing it from moving from one room to another, they succeeded.
My dear goddess soul sister Reenie, with her husband Billy, spent 4 days chain-sawing their way out of their road to the main road. They also cleared all of their neighbors' roads. Now they are helping people get cars, warm places to stay, clearing horse farms from downed trees, bringing supplies to folks and provided me with much needed generator heated showers, companionship, transportation, deep healing coffee talks, Whole Foods parking lot play with A. Bear, trips to help others, hot healing soup, gut-wrenching humor, and unconditional love.
My dear friend & confidante Lu Lu and husband Chris have provided our family with showers, laundry and beloved folding, magic telescopic moments, yummy home-cooked food, deeply needed play time with Quinn plus "mud hole magic", an open house & heart for anything we need, much needed therapeutic sharing and fresh drinkable water with containers to bring this life-giving force home. Lu Lu has helped organize supply locations and delivered supplies, and Chris went in to clean up mud in a full-blown hazmat suit.
My other worldly wondrous chuckaboo Sam provided us a sunlit bathing experience for Charlie, a song inducing shower for me, trampoline fun, spiced pancakes "best I have ever had", all day laundry, laughter and deeply appreciated folding. She also provided showers and water for many of the neighbors in her neighborhood.
My brother from another mother, Andrew, ran to a store and got us what we needed before we could even leave the property.
Our landlord let us borrow her mini cooper for 3 weeks, told us not to fill it up with gas, and told us to eat anything in their house while they were away.
Joe, our neighbor, invited the entire neighborhood to fill up with well water from his property. We did this on a regular basis, it gave us water for handwashing, dish washing, toilet flushing, tooth brushing, house cleaning, and washcloth baths. Non-potable water just came back on this past Friday!

Our car 'Baby-Mo' bought when Charlie was in my Womb was towed away after being totaled by a tree. Because of you, my Angels, we will be able to provide a car for our family. To keep moving forward. Keep making memories. Living life fully. Helping others in our beautiful part of Western North Carolina.
Because of you, we will be able to donate to friends who have lost so much. Because of you, we will be able to purchase gas to deliver supplies in our cute little black rental car. Because of you, we will be able to nurture our mental wellness.

Thank you from the extension of our soul for sharing your abundance with us. It means the absolute Universe to us!
