One question that frequently comes up in conversation is: “What is the cost of operating a UV system”? There seems to be a misunderstanding that ultraviolet sanitation systems are not only expensive to purchase, but also expensive to operate. In fact, not only is the purchase price relatively inexpensive, but also operation of a UV system is very inexpensive.
Our lamps 58W each, so the cost per lamp is the same as it would be for operating a 60W light bulb. Therefore, consumption is merely 0.06 kWh. Calculating the exact cost will depend on the price per kWh of your provider and the number of hours your pump operates per day.
