I was asked about houses on the 400 block of W. William St. in 1901. There were a lot fewer houses on this block than there are today and quite a few were rentals.. The first house on the side of the street with even numbers was:
#408 NOTE: The 1901 Directory of Delaware said they lived at #407, but the 1900 U.S. Census said they owned #408
John M. Sycks (54) real estate and insurance agent at 27 ½ N. Sandusky
Mattie C. (52)
Dana C. (19) book keeping at a bank
Anna G. (22) teacher
Grace C. (15) at school
Mary J. (10) at school
Note: see the comments for the rest of the houses

I was asked for who lived in the houses on the odd side of S. Liberty St. The 1901 Directory of Delaware shows only 3 houses on that side: #39, #45 and #49. This block wasn't included in the 1901 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map, but it was in the 1911 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map (See below) You'll notice that #39 has a #39 1/2 on the building behind it and #45 also had a #45 1/2. Neither of these were in either the 1901 directory of Delaware or the 1900 U.S. Census, so they may have been built between 1901 and 1911 when the map was made. NOTE: See the comments for the information about the houses with odd numbers on this block.
