DIY Charcoal Water Pre-Filter Bucket — Clean Water, Anywhere!

When you’re off-grid or prepping for emergencies, clean water is everything. Here’s a simple, low-cost way to pre-filter dirty water before boiling — using just buckets, sand, gravel, and charcoal!

🪣 What You’ll Need:
- 2 buckets (one for filtering, one for collecting)
- Spigot + seal
- Cloth screen or coffee filter
- Activated charcoal
- Sand and gravel
- Drill, knife, and marker

🔧 Step-by-Step:
1. Drill a hole near the bottom of the bucket for your spigot.
2. Install the spigot and seal it tight.
3. Add a cloth screen to catch large debris.
4. Layer in activated charcoal to remove odor and bad taste.
5. Add sand for fine sediment.
6. Top with gravel for larger particles.
7. Pour in dirty water and let gravity do the work.
8. Collect filtered water, then boil or disinfect before drinking.
