The Ashland Fire Department will hold a chicken barbecue on Saturday, March 21 starting at noon. Take-outs only, first come, first served, no reservations. Chicken halves are $7. All proceeds will be donated to the family of the late Greene County Deputy Sheriff Kevin Haverly.

Celebrate the arrival of Spring with the Esopus Creek Conservancy and John BurroughsNatural History Society on a guided nature walk in a variety of ecologically rich habitats in the Town of Saugerties on Sunday, March 22, 2020. Depending on available time, conditions, and participant interest, we will visit The Great Vly Wildlife Management Area and Esopus Bend Nature Preserve. - PLEASE READ - CHANGES DUE TO CURRENT CONDITIONS
Pre-registration (see below) is now mandatory so we can limit the size of the group, and we will not pass around a sign-in sheet. We will also not share binoculars and views through spotting scopes, as we usually do, so you may not want to attend this walk if you don't have optics (may not be very enjoyable). WE CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH THAT IF YOU ARE ILL OR EXPERIENCING ANY SYMPTOMS OF COLD OR FLU PLEASE STAY HOME. We will not be car pooling, so again we will limit the size of the group and everyone will need to drive their own vehicle to the Great Vly and EBNP.
Meet 8:00 a.m. in the Saugerties Village Beach parking lot on Rte. 9W, just north of the Esopus Creek bridge, at the foot of Partition Street in the Village of Saugerties.
Bring binoculars, field guides, and spotting scopes if you have them, and be prepared for wet, muddy trails, and early spring weather conditions. Light rain often makes for excellent birding and nature observation, but heavy rain cancels the walk. Children are welcome and encouraged, but please do not bring pets.

In an effort to block the spread of COVID-19, Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers’ Museum will cancel all public programs through April 6. This includes the annual spring Members’ Reception. The museums will immediately issue refunds to those who have purchased tickets or registrations.
