Some calls are about more than just taking a report.

Last week, Sergeant Dring met Mary, a 90-year-old resident who was outside trying to trim dead branches from her tree. After taking a few minutes to help her out, they spent some time talking and enjoying a simple, positive moment in the community.

It’s often the small things that make the biggest difference. Thank you, Sergeant Dring, for representing BPD well.

Today, members of the Bethlehem Police Department conducted a seatbelt enforcement detail in partnership with the New York State Police, New York State Park Police, and plainclothes investigators from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.

This detail was part of the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee’s statewide seatbelt enforcement initiative, which runs from May 18 through May 31, 2026.

Today, members of the Bethlehem Police Department were proud to take part in the Memorial Day Parade and stand alongside our community in honoring the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
