Here's the yes that came before the 4th of July, not during it. Protein first.

That was dinner last night, steak, sweet potato wedges, grilled zucchini and squash. No cookout, no holiday spread, just a regular plate built the exact same way I teach for a 4th of July plate. Protein goes on first, then everything else fills in around it. (There's a free guide behind this idea, more on that below.)

That's the whole principle behind deciding your "yes" ahead of time instead of standing at the food table on the 4th trying to talk yourself into or out of things. You decide the one move before you're there, when it's easy, and you don't have to white-knuckle the rest of the spread.
