Let’s talk more about what is required to get your VA disability claims approved.
Compensation benefits are only available to veterans with current disabilities. A veteran is not eligible for compensation just because he or she suffered an injury or an illness while in service and suffered no lasting symptoms. Medical conditions that are acute or transitory do not qualify for compensation.
In order to prove you have a current disability you first need a medical provider to establish a current condition. This is called competent evidence. Obviously, this means you have to have symptoms of that specific condition on exam. Under certain circumstances, you may also need to have diagnostic and laboratory testing to establish a current disability.
This is the first step of the process the next step is establishing a medical nexus link. A Nexus Letter is an evidence-based document prepared by a private medical professional that helps to establish a link or connection (“Nexus”) between the veteran’s current disability and their active-duty military service. Nexus Letters should be thorough, factual, and include convincing, evidenced-based rationale. The letter should also include all records reviewed as well as relevant medical research reports and BVA case law decisions used to help support the medical providers opinion.
If you have all the qualifying evidence, Precision Health DPC can help you get both a current diagnosis and a medical nexus link. Contact us for more information 386-227-7705 .
