Hit Hopedale solo on Friday. Tide was very slow, fish weren’t where they were last Tuesday. Stayed in about a 1 mile radius. Revisited earlier spots and there they were. All fish caught on topwater, OvercastLureCo Hogzilla Baby Speck. Another……Great day on the water!
3/18 Hopedale- Water was LOW. On the way there saw boats on hoists over mud. Launched at 7:30am, headed straight to south side of dam where we found clean water last week in similar conditions. Water was a toasty 67 degrees, minimal i coming tide, no wind. Started throwing Mirrolure 17MR at outer rocks and picked up 4 12-14” trout on 1st 4 casts then nothing. Moved to damn fishing Overcastlureco Killa Creole Hyper Minnow with a 1/4oz Slammer jig head on the bottom, Bam! First fish was a 19” speck. Wound up with 10 in the box, released 4 over 20” including my PB, a 24.5” hammer. Great day on the water!
Captain Frenchy and I met up on the water in MRGO yesterday in ridiculous wind. Only 2 boats out there. Caught some nice trout and had some laughs.
Got on the water at 1:30. Wind was 20mph+, clear with a little sand stirring, tide moving in. Fish were scattered but all were big. Caught everything on on 1/4oz Slammer Jig heads #
Afternoon trip to Chalmette. Found em on the rocks with SaltnPeppa Hyper Minnow on 1/4oz Slammer Jighead # SaltnPeppahyperminnow
