Homeschool Bravely: How to Squash Doubt, Trust God, and Teach Your Child with Confidence 02/15/2023

Just a quick update, friends!

We began our homeschooling journey in January and we are about to complete our first part of the Pre-K curriculum, "God Made the World and Me". Our daughter has learned so much about God and his wonderful creation. It's been so fun watching her flourish in this season!

However, I have had some learning of my own to do these last two months--how to rely on Jesus during this parenting season with a 3-year-old, 2-year-old, and now 4-month-old. There are no boring days that's for sure! Coming home from the public school environment has been such a blessing because I am seeing tremendous benefits in stewarding my role as a wife and mother. It's been the most rewarding thing I have ever done, but also the hardest!

I have challenged myself to read three books so far this year and they have made such a difference in my parenting role, and in my homeschooling role, and I wanted to share those resources with you!

One of my sweet friends in my small group bought me "Don't Make Me Count to Three" by Ginger Hubbard and it was a BIG game-changer when it came to my views on disciplining/discipling my children, HIGHLY recommend it along with her podcast "Parenting with Ginger Hubbard".

The second book I read was recommended by another awesome friend in my small group, "Homeschool Bravely" by Jamie Erickson. If you are fearful about homeschooling--this book is for you!

Lastly, I am almost finished with "Grace Based Parenting" by Dr. Tim Kimmel and WOW! This has been an eye-opener. Grace--such an easy word to say and believe for ourselves from Jesus, but even harder to extend to loved ones, even our own kids in moments when they need it most.

Next on my list is "Gospel-Centered Motherhood" & "Education: Does God Have an Opinion?" and I can't wait!!

But ultimately--God's word is ALWAYS sufficient. My favorite set of verses right now is Psalm 19:7-11, and worth meditating on daily! We also subscribed to DWELL DIFFERENTLY and are currently memorizing Jeremiah 31:6b, "I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have drawn you with unending kindness"--such a sweet reminder of God's pursuit of us! So when in doubt, start with HIS word first because it is sufficient in guiding you in every trial and circumstance!

That's all for the update for now! Continue praying for this business and that we always keep the focus on serving Christ immediately, completely, and enthusiastically in the season we are in. Thanks, friends!

Until His Return.

Hello, lovely people! God is good...can I get an amen?! Today, our daughter learned about day five of creation: sea life and birds! I am so thankful for the Master Books curriculum and the ease it has provided to home school our youngster! I am blessed with the privilege to be able to steward this time to be intentional in her learning. It's not all sunshine and rainbows though--it has it's challenges as well, but even in our rougher days, God's grace is sufficient! I would encourage you to peruse the different curriculum Master Book's has to offer here: https://www.masterbooks.com/

I purchased a book from them: Education: Does God Have an Opinion? And I am super excited to read it and glean wisdom and insight in regards to education. Stay tuned for updates!

Have a wonderful week, friends!

Until His Return!
