Happy Wednesday! We will be hosting a workshop tonight at 7:00pm in B185 at Discovery Park. This workshop is open to anyone in any major and serves as preparation for our in-house competition Botathon which will be hosted next semester.
This will also be a general instructional explaining all of the parts used in building RC cars. This meeting will be building the frame, chassis, and putting some components on the build. Next meeting will be wiring and a bit of coding!
See you there!!

Here are the highlights of our last general workshop meeting with our club members! We had a blast planning and drawing out some ideas for our next robot, Scrapp-e! You’ll see more of this guy throughout the year, so stay tuned and hope to see you at the next meeting!

T-3 days to Botathon! This Saturday, 9am to 7pm at Discovery Park (Main Hallway)!!
For those who have not participated in botathon before, it's an entry-level, no experience required, and completely free, robotics competition where you just need to turn up in the morning, we'll provide you with robot kits, food, mentorship, teammates (if needed) and you'll spend a few hours designing and building your robot, in the afternoon/evening the tournament starts where you compete with the robot you built.
This year you'll be facing off in a capture-the-flag competition! Each robot will need to grab blocks from the opposing team's side of the field (through a tunnel) and bring them into a capture zone on your home side of the field. At the end of each round, you'll be scored on how many of the opponet's blocks you captured. There's some extra twists and turns in there, and I might even throw in some metal blocks and electromagnets if we want to get fancy with it.
If anyone has questions, always feel free to hit me up!! There's some more event specifics at https://www.untrobotics.com/botathon/ too (you can also pre-register on that site if you have any dietary restrictions/disability accommodations).
