1) Is the contractor you are hiring insured? Get a Certificate of Insurance from them.
2) If the contractor you hired subcontracts to others, do they require them to have insurance?
3) Is your home at any point going to be vacant and with no furnishings? If yes, then check with us to see what limits apply to your current home policy - typically there is no coverage if a loss were to occur and your home is vacant for 30 days or more.
