These are edible tubers eaten the same way as potatoes with a slightly more nutty flavor. The plants are related to sunflowers with similar growth habits. These plants get 6’-9’ tall with dozens of beautiful late season sunflowers. Grow through the year and harvest anytime on the fall and winter to feed your family delicious food!

Happy New Year! So yesterday’s low was 64, tonight is 19. So we have been getting our greenhouse ready and tonight will be the first regulated fire of the season to keep everything warm & alive inside.

Growing/making your own food doesn’t mean all your meals are variations of salad. Take this example below; homemade instant pot yogurt, garden butternut squash, free range chicken eggs from our compost makers, and homemade kombucha in a Grolsch beer bottle (because they are indestructible)!
