💆🏽‍♀️🌿 It’s Almost Time for Our Annual Mutual Aid Monday Community Spa Day! 🌿

One of our favorite days of the year is almost here!

On Monday, July 27, from 4:00–7:00 PM, we’ll once again transform Mutual Aid Monday into a day of rest, relaxation, and care for our unhoused neighbors. Community Spa Day is all about reminding people that they are worthy of dignity, kindness, and a little pampering.

We’re looking for volunteers to help provide:
✨ Facials
🦶 Foot scrubs
💅 Manicures
💇 Haircuts
🪡 Accudetox
💆 Massage
🎵 Music
🧘 Yoga
🌿 Or any other relaxing activity you’d like to share!

Whether you’re a licensed professional or simply have a gift you’d like to offer, we’d love to have you join us.

A haircut, a hand massage, or even a few quiet moments of care can make a lasting impact. These simple acts remind our neighbors that they are seen, valued, and loved by their community.

We loved seeing new and returning helpers and attendees at MAM tonight! As we honor Pride Month, we must face the reality that housing insecurity and homelessness is still an everyday struggle for many in the q***r community. Behind all the joy that comes from Pride month, the quiet truth remains that LGBTQ+ individuals are disproportionately more likely to experience homelessnesss. LGBTQ+ youth are 120% more likely to experience homelessness than their peers. For adults, 17% of LGBTQ+ adults and 8% of transgender adults have experienced homelessness, compared to 6% of the general population. Factors like family rejection and systemic barriers such as discrimination in housing and shelters, leave too many people without a safe, affirming place to stay or live.

Pride has always been rooted in looking out for one another and fighting for survival. At Mutual Aid Monday, we see the daily struggles as well as the incredible resilience of our unhoused q***r neighbors. They deserve real safety, basic dignity, and a place to call home.
