The US Supreme Court just scored a win for diversity! It is now unlawful for Universities to accept and reject students based solely on their race. This is a giant step for the USA to live more closely to the ideals of the Declaration of Independence that states “all men are created equal”. Real diversity, such as diversity of thought, skill, and culture, is now the standard. That’s a huge win. Our young aspiring adults are now able to succeed or fail based on who they are not what they are. We are not a perfect nation, and we have fallen short many times. However, this ruling brings us closer to being the nation we should all want to live in where race is an attribute, not an accomplishment or a failure.
