A beautiful thing about the depth & richness of language is that it gives us endless ways to communicate our love. We can say it in 3 words or 3000 words. It has been described in poems and songs. It has inspired metaphors and battle cries.

But let’s be honest — communicating, “I love you” isn’t about the words.

bell hooks encourages us to think of love not as a noun but as a verb. She described love as “an act of will — namely, both an intention and an action.”

Love is an intention. Love is an action. So you don’t have to find the perfect, complicated string of words to communicate your love.

To us, love can be in every:
- Text me when you get home!
- Best memes I saw this week:
- Dinner’s on me tonight 🍴
- [tells a story over multiple voice texts]
- Stopping for coffee, what can I get for you?
- Your haircut looks amazing!
- Are you warm enough?

Of all the ways to say it, we’ll say it simply - Hi, we love you. But then again, you’re not hard to love!
