Seattle Public Schools further alleges, "the companies are liable for "their own affirmative conduct in recommending and promoting harmful content to youth", "their own actions designing and marketing their social media platforms in a way that causes harm", "the content they create that causes harm", and "for distributing, delivering, and/or transmitting material that they know or have reason to know is harmful, unlawful, and/or tortious".
Now, this same Seattle School does set accounts to private so kids aren't exposed to topics like su***de, etc. This way they can use their forum to safely discuss topics like this to them and provide support together with parents and policy makers.

I think that social media platforms are exposing too much information to youth. It can be difficult for young people to distinguish between what is appropriate and what is not, and the content that is recommended by platforms can lead to unhealthy behaviors and attitudes. It is important for parents and schools to be aware of the content that is available to children and to take steps to protect them from being exposed to dangerous or inappropriate content.
