Just as important as it is to give yourself permission to feel the tears, it’s equally important to give yourself permission to play. Life is so precious, so fleeting. Take a moment to check-in with that 8 year-old self and see what she wants out of life today. Build a pillow fort, play the piano, go for a walk and explore your surroundings, or splash in some paint. Make this moment or even today her day.

So what does your 8 year old self want to do? How are you playing?

I find myself daydreaming about this weekend’s paintathon, and the pure freedom I feel embracing the colors, brushstrokes, and sunlight.

Go with the current of life instead of against it. As said this week on her journeys through France: “Your life will have SEASONS. Your tomorrows will not look like your today.”

Embrace that eb and flow of life and know that it is okay to be where you are right now. Get to know those feelings fully and completely; know yourself intimately. Give yourself permission to express to the world where you are right now in the current. Most of my life was spent pushing against the current not wanting my reality to be the way it was. It was not until I started to listen to the current that I realized where it was actually trying to lead me. It’s an amazingly beautiful thing to be able to let go of feeling like you have to control everything and instead just show up to life and allow life to show up in kind. So today I challenge you to stop pushing, and see what life brings you.

All taped up and ready to go. It’s amazing how excited I get when I’m just cleaning and taping off a shoe. Just so many possibilities....
