For those of you who are wondering I do have some sad news for your update. Some of you know what I am discussing while others have no clue. So to start off let's talk about meow favorite event of the year Cat Fest Colorado. Hosted in Denver every November bringing family friendly cat fun, fun cat facts, cat gear, cat themed products, famous cats like meow, a special guest, tica show cats, and even the adoption of your new forever friend. Daddy and I have attended each event since it's inception the year I was adopted in 2022. I have participated in cat costume contests and even won 1st in CATegory. I have met and been pretty by HeatherAfter Cosplay, Nathan The CatLady, Alphacat, That Cat Pluto and many others including even some of my adoring fans. I even had my own booth last year. However this year will be my first year of not being able to attend. In addition to meow daddies dynamic and invisible disabilities we had to move to the mountains to help manage these disabilities including PNES seizures. As a recipient of a housing voucher and my status as an Emotional Support Cat we have been discriminated against by many housing managers. In addition to this daddy has been the victim of ableism and gaslighting by housing management at current and previous residences. Including an unofficial eviction for receiving an autism diagnosis which unlocked the doctors eyes to realize that daddies complaints were valid health concerns. Over 30 years of being dismissed as a bad kid, a monster and hypochondriac just to find out that Daddy has very valid and debilitating disabilities. While being homeless it took Dad over 10 years to win his Social Security case. It took 2 years and five case managers from the place that got him evicted for his diagnosis to be able to get him into the EBD program to get home-based services. But the case manager victimized daddy again with ableism and gaslighting for over a year telling him he didn't qualify and he wasn't disabled enough but refused to pull any kind of records from Social Security or the doctors. This resulted in her fighting out that Daddy was having to move because the current housing manager doesn't want us here because of Dad's disabilities and because they don't want to accept that they are in breach of the law of habitability here in Colorado and has not only refused to do the maintenance work but even called Daddy delusional. But when he took us to eviction mediation here in the last month, he admitted that there is an issue with the property. However, we still have until December 31st to find a new place where Daddy and I will be homeless on the streets yet again. So with the housing situation added on to the chaos of living with disabilities and comorbidities. Daddy is once again having to shop the housing market exposing himself to further discrimination and denials. We even lost internet for about a month because Xfinity thinks that $120 plus $120 equals over $400. Therefore, we had to refuse to pay the unjust amounts that make no sense and switch over to T-Mobile home internet just so that we can try and find a place before the end of the year. The housing voucher requires that we stay in Jefferson County, but Daddy's health issues require that we stay in the mountains away from the city. With this housing and stability added on to the lack of transportation and being short on funds, especially during no snap November and we will not be able to attend this year which will be the first year since 2022 that we have not been able to attend. I know this is going to break a lot of hearts. But I asked for compassion and understanding knowing that your heart may be broken, but I asked you to put yourself in our shoes. Or in my case paws. It isn't that we do not want to go. Last year we were in a slightly better situation cuz we had just barely moved into this situation and didn't have housing and instability hanging over our head and it's still knocked us out all winter long because it takes so much out of us and now we're in an even worse situation. We're literally everything that we are relying on after over 30 years of Daddy trying to find work and find anything other than government benefits to try and live off of it became apparent that government benefits was going to be the only way that Daddy could survive and now those exact government benefits have either been lost or are about to be lost or are even in question of whether they will continue. Additionally, between this situation and the war on autism by RFK which started in April the same week that we released our first podcast episode, this has caused us to stop making content partially because of no internet partially because of the disabilities partially because of the effects of being victimized on TV and being blamed for every woe in the world. But also because Daddy was attempting to use AI to build a blog website for y'all to have a place to come see meow that way Daddy could create a post on the blog and then that would repurpose as social media content so that y'all wouldn't have to miss out due to Daddy's disabilities. In order for us to attend catfest we would need to secure housing, have a plan of how to get moved into this new housing when we don't have funds, solve the food situation for November or until snap gets turned back on, we would also need transportation to get to the event, and then we would still have to figure out gate fee as well. We have a week or less to figure this all out. So unless and miracle falls from the skies I would not expect us this year.
